You know how some moments just stick with you?
This is one of them. Our amazing kindergarten teacher, Ms. Stephanie R. Leitch, arranged a special pairing between her students and some of our seniors. Watching them together is a powerful lesson in empathy, mentorship, and the beautiful cycle of life in school. The seniors, with a full educational journey behind them, will guide our little ones who are just taking their first steps.
It’s a beautiful metaphor for a high school senior leaving for college—they’re not just leaving; they’re carrying all they’ve learned and sharing a piece of it with the next generation. Thank you, Ms. Leitch, for this unforgettable lesson.

As Radford School celebrates its 115th Anniversary in 2025, this week we are featuring Radford’s May Fete, a cherished annual tradition that celebrates spring and honors the graduating senior class.
May Fete is a beautiful blend of history and ceremony, with roots in both European and school-specific traditions. At the heart of the celebration is the May Pole; a European custom that symbolizes the arrival of spring and new life, with students weaving colorful ribbons around the pole in a choreographed dance.
Donna Gore, a Radford alumnus, shared a fun fact about the tradition: “Senior girls used to curtsy and hold their dresses and touch their foreheads to the ground. They practiced for months to get this down.” This detail highlights the dedication and grace that has formed part of this special event since Radford’s beginnings.
We are proud to continue the tradition of May Fete at Radford - an event that beautifully connects our past with our present.

At Radford School, the sounds of the piano are a daily inspiration! Our students are consistently honing their skills with our outstanding music teacher, Mr. Uribe.
“Where words fail, music speaks.” This powerful quote by Hans Christian Andersen truly captures the spirit of our music program.
