Radford students excel in Academics, Leadership, Community Service, and Character. Which is why our Honor Societies have no shortage of members! After meeting GPA and excellent behavior criteria, students are nominated to apply to be a member. Applicants must demonstrate strength in each of the four areas. Members are inducted at the end of the school year in a ceremony that make parents proud!
National Honor Society
Members are in 10th - 12th grade and participate in various activities and community service projects. One of the most fun is Red Ribbon Week, a program to educate students about staying drug-free. See Events for more information on Red Ribbon week.
National Junior Honor Society
Members are in Middle School through 9th Grade and participate in various activities and community service projects. They join NHS for Red Ribbon Week Activities, see Events.
National Hispanic Honor Society
In Spanish, this is the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica, and is an academic honor society focused on Spanish language excellence in secondary schools. NHHS also focuses on service, directed both toward the Hispanic community and the community as a whole.
The purpose of the National Junior Classical League is to encourage an interest in and an appreciation of the language, literature, and culture of ancient Greece and Rome and to impart an understanding of the debt of our own culture to that of Classical antiqity.
