| The objective of Radford School is to
stimulate, at the highest level, the search for knowledge, skill,
and understanding with an enthusiastic and experienced faculty—all
with degrees in their fields, and many with advanced degrees which
goes far beyond teaching only academics by modeling and teaching
character, leadership, self-discipline and values. |

 |
Radford differentiates itself through a unique
family atmosphere, through which its greatest asset - a culturally
rich and diverse community - thrives. This family atmosphere is
promoted through small class size, communal meals, tradition and
structured activities. |
| A proud heritage of traditions and
customs unites the school. Numerous celebrations and activities,
rooted in the school’s beginnings— including May Fete, Fall
Festival, the Lighting of the Yule Log, Operetta, Junior-Senior
Prom, and Radford Day. An annual homecoming event for alumni—
promote a sense of belonging, as well as of history, and serve as
the tie between generations of Radford students. |
 |
|
 |
Building upon its abundant history
and traditions, Radford School has set a bold course for the
future. For over 97 years Radford School has been recognized for
its excellence in academic achievement and student development.
The overriding philosophy of Radford School is to provide a
challenging and enriching college preparatory curriculum in a
small class setting that allows students to develop intellectually
and socially. |
| Radford’s campus extends over two
city blocks in a resplendent residential neighborhood, Austin
Terrace, one of the city’s most stunning historic districts. The
school’s Spanish architectural style reflects the history and
culture of its home on the US-Mexico border. Our gated campus
features open patios and secure play areas. Radford’s
facilities also include an indoor junior Olympic swimming pool,
playing fields. the Feuille Library, the Rogers Gymnasium. Templin
Auditorium, a computer center with Internet capabilities, and a
formal dining room. |
 |
|
 |
Lunch in the formal dining room is a daily opportunity for
children and faculty to get to know each other. At each table,
headed by a faculty member, children of various ages are seated
together. Older students set the example of proper dining and
social etiquette for the younger students to follow. |
| Radford School is a microcosm of a multi-cultural society. Admission
to Radford is based
on past academic performance and capability without regard to religious
creed or
national origin. The Radford experience provides an international exchange
of
knowledge, ideas, customs, and hopes and aspirations because of the multicultural
student body. The Radford student population has included students from
Mexico,
Canada, Kuwait, England, Yugoslavia, Germany, Korea, Aruba, Japan, China,
and
Central, South America, and other areas of the world.
