Elementary School Curriculum

In the Lower School, integrated language arts and math programs help students develop meaningful connections and an understanding of basic concepts within traditional disciplines. Faculty emphasize reading, writing, listening and oral communication so that students may begin not only to master skills, but also to apply them. The program is augmented with instruction in computer and library skills, physical education, music, studio art and Spanish (native or non-native) is mandatory for all students in grades 2-11.

Parents of Radford students are encouraged to participate in their children’s education through the Radford Parent-Teacher Organization (RPTO) and a variety of volunteer opportunities . Parent involvement has proven to increase the odds for student success.
