About Us
The Radford School aims to stimulate the education, skill, and understanding of its students with an enthusiastic and experienced faculty, all who are experts in their respective fields. The Radford School's teachers go far beyond teaching only academics, by modeling and teaching many other life skills including character, leadership, self-discipline, and values.
The Radford School is a microcosm of a multi-cultural society. Admission to The Radford School is based on past academic performance and capability without regard to religious creed or national origin. The Radford experience provides an international exchange of knowledge, ideas, customs, and hopes and aspirations because of the multicultural student body. The Radford student population has included students from Mexico, Canada, Kuwait, England, Yugoslavia, Germany, Korea, Aruba, Japan, China, and Central, South America, and other areas of the world.
Our Mission
The cardinal objective of Radford School is to stimulate, at the highest level, the search for knowledge, skill, and understanding. The following objectives support the mission statement:
- To instill in each student a sense of duty, honor, integrity and good manners, as well as respect for oneself and others.
- To develop students who can think clearly, objectively, creatively, and independently and who can read critically and write intelligently.
- To develop student communication skills in writing and speaking.
- To develop student insight into the institutions and values with which society is concerned.
- To develop an appreciation for cultural diversity and cross cultural understanding.
- To prepare, stimulate, and encourage each student to pursue a post-secondary education after graduation.
All this is possible with small classes and an enthusiastic and experienced faculty - all with degrees in their fields, and many with advanced degrees - which goes far beyond teaching only academics by modeling and teaching character, leadership, self-discipline and values.
Additionally, a variety of exploratory activities enable students to identify their individual abilities in social areas, and to explore their talents in creative and performing arts and athletics.
